I couldn't tear my eyes off her as my old friends rushed her away. I couldn't believe her; couldn't believe she really hated me enough to humiliate me like that.

I felt the tears streaming down my face as I clutched my dress to myself, but I still couldn't take my eyes off her back.

As I watched, Sam was pushing her from behind, and turned around. They met my eye and frowned, mouthing 'I'm so sorry'. Before I could give them any sort of reaction, they turned back to their task and then they all were gone and I was left alone with Ollie in the middle of a crowd of people still recording me with tears free-falling down my face.

I should have moved, I should have done something, but I couldn't bring myself to do anything.

The moment they faded from view, Ollie turned back to me, took off his cloak, and wrapped it around me. I was grateful for the small comfort. He held it in place with his hands on my shoulders and guided me away from the crowd.

People were giving their condolences and saying how horrible she was, but I was still too stunned to react.

I hate her. Okay, maybe I didn't hate her, but I hated what she had done, hated that she wanted me hurt, that she hated me that much. I hated this rift between us. I used to feel like it was my fault, but I had tried with her. I had tried to be kind and give her space. I had tried to ignore her. Clearly, that wasn't an option.

I had tried to take the high road, but she insisted on sinking to new lows and dragging me down with her. I was done being the bigger person. I was done being apologetic and letting her walk all over me. She thought I was a villain before? She wasn't ready for just how low I was willing to go.

The next time I saw her, I would be ready and she wouldn't know what hit her.
